Project: ResUrbis - Educational Game
ResUrbis is a 2D storytelling game created by Grifo Multimedia to educate players on sustainable urban waste management and the principles of a circular economy. It's a "serious game" designed to be both engaging and informative, developed for an EU-funded project in collaboration with the Politecnico of Bari.
My Role & Contributions
While I was involved in some light game design during the initial concept stage, my primary and most significant contribution to this project was in the user interface. My responsibilities included:
UI Asset Creation & Production: I was responsible for designing, creating, and producing the majority of the UI assets for the game. This included crafting icons, buttons and other interface elements that are crucial for a management game's user experience.
Visual Style: I worked to ensure all the UI assets were clear, legible, and fit cohesively within the game's established art style.
Solution & Impact
In a storytelling game like ResUrbis, a clear and intuitive UI is fundamental to the player's ability to understand complex systems and make informed decisions. My work focused on creating a clean and functional interface that allows players to easily manage resources, understand building functions, and track their progress in creating a sustainable city.
The final game successfully uses its interface to make a complex topic—urban sustainability—accessible and engaging for players.
